NEAR MISS
Security born of prevention.
Every day, in factories and on construction sites, incidents occur that could have caused an injury but didn't—so-called "near misses." In most companies, these signals go unrecorded and are lost by the end of the shift. Near-Miss Ready transforms them into actionable data using NFC/QR tags placed in the workplace.
What is the Near-Miss
A near miss is an event that, due to chance circumstances, did not result in injury or harm to health but could have done so under slightly different conditions. Identifying and analyzing such events makes it possible to address the underlying causes before they escalate into an actual injury.
Why is mandatory now?
Decree-Law 159/2025 introduces, into Legislative Decree 81/08, an obligation for companies with more than 15 employees to identify, record, and analyze near-misses:
Structured internal procedures for reporting, recording, and analysis
Involvement of prevention personnel (RSPP, RLS)
Notification to the Ministry of Labour
Technical update to UNI EN ISO 45001:2023+A1:2024
Companies exceeding the relevant thresholds must establish a verifiable process that enables anyone to report a near miss at the time and place of occurrence, track it using consistent and analyzable data, and make it available for corporate reporting, without relying on informal reports or paper-based methods.
The solution: Intag System’s Near-Miss Ready
The "Near-Miss Ready" service extends the same physical-digital identity logic already applied to products to the workplace: an on-site NFC/QR tag serves as an immediate reporting point for near-miss incidents. It offers a simple action for the worker, a unified dashboard for Health & Safety managers (RSPP/HSE), and data ready for reporting to the Ministry of Labour.
Report from the Exact Location
NFC/QR tags placed on machinery, areas or workstations at risk: employees can scan and immediately open a pre-filled report with the location and related asset reference.
Configurable Anonymity
The company decides whether to allow anonymous reporting or require employee identification, adapting the process to its internal policies and procedures.
Centralized Management
A single safety management dashboard with reporting history, status tracking and closure workflows, available across the organization rather than tied to a single brand or product.
Data Ready for Regulatory Reporting
Recorded near misses are structured and exportable, ready to support the required reporting workflow to the relevant labour authorities.
One Infrastructure, One Dashboard
The safety module integrates into the same platform already used for anti-counterfeiting and DPP, without requiring separate systems to purchase or integrate.
In Summary
One tag to report, one dashboard to manage, and structured data ready for regulatory reporting.
Note: The platform structures the process for reporting and tracking near misses. Substantial compliance with Legislative Decree 159/2025 must, however, be validated by your RSPP or a qualified consultant.
Do you also produce packaging to be placed on the EU market? The same Intag infrastructure also covers PPWR compliance (EU Reg. 2025/40).
Do you also produce physical goods that need to be tracked? The same Intag infrastructure handles Digital Product Passport requirements (EU Reg. 2024/1781) and anti-counterfeiting measures.
